Here are some trends that are now capturing attention and redefining what the current world sees as beauty:
1 MAXIMUM COLOR ON MINIMAL SKIN
The makeup world in the last few years has run the gamut of many ways to maximize the effect of makeup. After the pandemic kept so many people inside, gazing forlornly at their makeup cases, many 2021 trends pulled out all the stops and found as many ways as it could to splash our faces with outrageous color.
Not only were bold colors – including lighting up eyelids, unconventional placements of blush and strikingly bold lips the standard last year, but the industry offered ways to take those colors to the next level with glitter and skin jewels. It was as if trends were encouraging us to wear two years of makeup in one.
This year’s trends are still all about those incandescent colors, but in small increments. Modern looks are featuring a clean, natural-looking cheek and forehead; with a wide swath of bright and bold color across the eyelid, a complementary bold color creating a plump, bold lip and your look is good to go. A little mascara (matching you’re lash color) and a minimum of lip pencil to define the lip are the finishing touches.
2 TIGHT SKIN IS EVOLVING
Many people are still flocking to Botox treatments to tighten their skin, and the trend of skin tightening is not about to stop.
New procedures are appearing in dermatology offices; some rejuvenation treatments see patients needing to return for updated treatment less often.
Instead of Botox, a new procedure called micro-coring (using rapid insertion of fine needles that extract small amounts of skin) are becoming more popular. The holes left by the needles heal quickly, and their proximity allows the healing skin to draw together and create tighter skin.
3 SATURATED HAIR COLOR WITH SMALL POPS OF COLOR ACCENTS
The newest trends include choosing a color near to their natural color; but a bit more vibrant and striking. This will allow for a more carefree maintenance, and less of an emotional transition.
Another hair trend has been to dye only the roots; to forestall the invasion of gray into their hair.

4 MEN’S GROOMING IS GAINING MORE FOCUS
Women are not the only ones being targeted as customers. Men are becoming more aware of their appearance and how the look of their hair and skin can make them feel better (as well as look better.)

It’s significant to note gender roles are becoming less rigid, and some men are making choices that push their own personal “envelope” and embrace new ways to use eye and lip make up on their faces.
5 FACIAL ADORNMENT
Makeup on the eyes, cheeks and lips is great; and the new color trends give us plenty of choices.
But face jewelry is one of the new
